Blue Monkey is one of the best Coastal Holiday Cottages to Rent in Cornwall being just a stones throw from the beach. There are three main beaches in the villages of Kingsand and Cawsand which are separated by areas of rocks with interesting rock pools. All beaches are safe for swimming.
- Kingsand: Kingsand Beach is a mixture of sand & shingle which is located along The Cleave. Girt Beach is mainly shingle, but with some sand & can be found along Market Street. It is relatively sheltered by Picklecombe Point to the east and Penlee Point/Rame Head to the west. Quite popular with families the twin villages offer good drinking establishments and small shops, whilst cliff walkers will find excellent, if not too taxing, strolls to Mount Edgcumbe and Cremyll and also up onto Rame Head.
- Cawsand: Cawsand Beach is mainly sand and is found along The Bound. A pleasant shingle beach with all the usual facilities at the back of the beach. There are rock pools and inlets for children to play in and its sheltered location makes Cawsand a popular beach with families.
- Sandways: A fine swimming beach known as Sandways lies a short walk out of the village across the rocks towards Fort Picklecombe. Directions: head East from the village for about a mile. You will pass The Rising Sun Pub, carry on up the hill until you reach a gate. Follow the bottom of the field along to the end where you go down steps to Sand ways or along rocks past the green beach huts.
- Whitsand Bay: A short trip to the other side of the Rame Peninsula will take you to a 7km stretch of perfect sand that is the beach at Whitsand Bay. Visitors should note that access to the beach is very steep (10 minute walk).
